Aware of Wonder

”All I really needed to know about how to live and what to do
and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at
the top of graduate school mountain but there in the sandlot at Sunday School, these are the things I learned:

-Share everything
-Play fair
-Don’t hit people
-Put things back where you found them
-Clean up your own mess
-Don’t take things that aren’t yours
-Say sorry when you hurt somebody
-Wash your hands before you eat
-Flush
-Warm cookies and Cold milk are good for you
-Take a nap every afternoon
-Be aware of wonder
-When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold
hands and stick together.
-Live a balanced life - learn some - and think some - and draw
and paint some and sing and dance and play and work some every
day.

It is easy to complicate things because then we can use the complication as an excuse for being dysfunctional in whatever field it is applicable. When we keep the rules simple things sometimes loose their complicated angle and life seems much easier to live. These little wisdoms may seem simplistic (they seemed much more monumental when we were five) but if we could only apply them in our daily lives, if we could focus on getting by instead of drowning ourselves with worries and difficulties, perhaps we could get the balances right. Let those difficult lessons you learned in childhood set the trend for all those difficulties that make your life unattractive. Hold hands, take naps and wonder at the world, you will feel wonderful!
