Complexity of the web

Always think of the universe as one living organism, with a single substance and a single soul; and observe how all things are submitted to the single perceptivity of this one whole, all are moved by its single impulse, and all play their part in the causation of every event that happens. Remark the intricacy of the skein, the complexity of the web.

Meditations
Marcus Aurelius

These words were written in AD 121 -180 by Marcus Aurelius and for anyone on the web and especially the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) these are such significant and applicable words. To me it is as if he wrote it a few days ago - our involvement with this single perceptivity this single and multiplistic phenomenon has become in many instances the complexity of our lives and inextricable part of who we are and who we will be in the future. I realize his intent in writing the words were other than I have made them but it is an interpretation applicable to today in its original sense and in its current capacity, I suppose that is the value of the classic words.
