I just want to be sure
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
“Pooh!” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet taking Pooh’s paw
“I just want to be sure of you.”
Hearing that we are loved and cared for, hearing the actual words -
“I love you,” “I care about you,” is sometimes enough to get
us through a difficult day or situation. Giving constant assurance
of our affection can at times be tiresome and tedious but when it
is done, it is seldom wasted. To me words often seem empty and
as we all know actions speak louder than words, but there are times
that words are all we have. Giving someone comfort with only words
can make you feel impotent but like someone said today saying the
wrong thing is better than saying nothing at all. Consider that when
you deal with words they can be weapons but they can also be gifts.
Imagine each word is a wrapped up, bowed gift carrying all the love
and tenderness you want to convey. When you give them, give them
with love and affection and perhaps then they will make some one
sure enough to take you hand.
